MCA Commercial Coding Surveys

Vessels operating at sea, for commercial purposes, are required, under Merchant Shipping legislation to have a valid load line certificate. A certificate issued in accordance with the MCA Small Commercial Vessel and Pilot boat (SCV) code of practice provides a legal alternative to a Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) Load Line Certificate for small seagoing vessels in commercial use under 24m length over all.

Matt West is approved by  YDSA  to carry out MCA coding surveys to CAT 2 on GRP sail and motor yachts and RIBS and work closely with them to ensure high standards for your vessel and its crew. We also inspect for MARITIME LABOUR CONVENTION, 2006,SMALL VESSEL INSPECTION.

We do not cover fishing boats. Fees for a compliance survey are set depending on the size, type and complexity of the vessel.

MCA Commercial Coding Surveys

Fees are charged by the hour, the more well prepared the boat is for survey the quicker it takes. An indication of Certification fees are below.

We can also offer consultation and assistance to you in getting the boat prepared but we do not under take purchasing of equipment or hire of labour.

Please contact us for a quote.
