We were very anxious about buying our boat after years of not sailing but Matt put our minds at rest with his friendly and professional manner. He was very helpful and kept us informed every step of the way. We felt reassured by him and in safe hands. Matt West is lovely, friendly person and very good surveyor. Thank you.
As I live in York, I was in the undesirable position of purchasing my Ribeye 600 Playtime RIB unseen from Torquay. However the thorough and professional survey that Matt prepared gave me the reassurance I needed and I am very happy with the boat.
Matt surveyed Hunter Delta Delta Lady for us, and we were pleased that the assessment and advice he provided has proved to have been thorough and realistic. I’d be very happy to use his services in future.
Matt West conducted a very detailed survey of a 1970’s sailing vessel. I chose Matt because of his experience with a wide range of vessels and a knowledge of older boats. He was also recommended by a satisfied customer.
His survey, organised at short notice, gave a complete breakdown of the condition of the vessel and recommendations for repairs and improvements. I was particularly impressed by his thorough and professional manner.
The recent survey on my 1972 Albin 25 motor sailer carried out by Matt West of Marine Surveys UK was excellent.
Prior to meeting at the boat we had discussed the details of what I wanted from the survey. I found Matt very approachable and as the tag line states,’ Pragmatic Surveys in Plain English’ is a principle he followed prior to, during and after the survey.
The survey report is detailed, understandable, laying down a series of defects, recommendations and most helpfully, suggestions as to solutions.
I approached 3 surveyors prior to engaging Marine Surveys choosing them because of their reasonable fee and that they replied by return to my original approach.
Matt was working for about 3 hours, quietly, efficiently and without fuss. All in all very reassuring. I have no hesitation recommending him.
Debated whether to get one done but glad I did for peace of mind as I was spending alot of money!!
I was also very impressed of how thorough the survey was which was also assuring, that if there was something a miss then it would be found, I would reccomend marine surveys uk to any one looking at seding a lot of hard earned wages on a boat as the price of the survey is minimal compared to what it could cost if you dont.
I was very pleased at the professional yet easy friendly manner my survey was arranged. I found the final report thorough and easy to understand. Helpful advice and answers to my questions were all part of the service. I would certainly use them again.
A mst pleasant experience. Matt was friendly helpful and thorough
Very reasonably priced. Prompt and efficient service. Very pragmatic survey and report on an older boat.
Matt, did a survey on our boat, we were very happy with the service he offered
Matt (at Marine Surveys) surveyed a Rival 32 for me during the summer of 2011. He was very thorough in every aspect and explained everything that I was unsure about in full detail. He was realistic about the boat in question and took account of the age and cost so that a fair survey was arrived at. I felt his friendly and no-nonsense approach helped me enormously in arriving at a decision to buy.I would recommend Matt and Marine Surveys without hesitation to anyone buying a boat. Its a small price to pay for getting some down-to-earth advice on the seaworthiness of your next boat.
Very thorough, reasonably priced and friendly service. Would happily use again.
I commissioned Mat to survey a Najad 380 I wanted to buy in Italy. Mat arranged his flight and carried out the survey in one day, the service was fantastic and he gave a very clear concise survey which was both informative and gave me a clear way forward with the sale, Matt was more than happy to talk through the report with me on a number of occasions on the telephone over a number of days which was much appreciated as well. I would like to add that I contacted a number of surveyors who were either not interested in surveys overseas or very expensive. I have used Mat since for my tonnage survey and also he has many contacts in the industry that he can put you in touch with. I recommend him without reservation.
I used marine Surveys for a pre purchase survey for my Sealine T60, i found the report easy to read comprehensive and informative and above all accurate.
I have also used Marine Surveys to manage work on the boat after unfortunately i managed to run it aground, they kept me informed and oversaw the repairs on my behalf.
I would definitely recommend Marine Surveys.
Good insurance survey carried out. Matt was punctual, professional and friendly. Report arrived the next day. Would recommend
Marine Surveys produced an excellent survey on the boat I was planning to buy. Their survey was carried out with painstaking effort and diligence.Their report was extremely clear and easy to read. Most importantly their findings were ranked which made it easy to see what was of concern and what could be dealt with at a later stage. I was able to proceed with the purchase with great confidence in exactly what I was buying. Most importantly for me the survey was carried out with the minimum of fuss. Marine Surveys liaised with the brokers and the shipyard to ensure the boat was delivered to the right place, lifted and returned afterwards without any involvement from me.All round it was an extremely competent and comprehensive service which I have no hesitation in recommending.
